The Little River Cloggers of Rougement, North Carolina formed in 1995. The group specializes in the traditional dance forms of the Southern Appalachian Mountains as well as exploring more contemporary trends in clog dancing. The group participates in fundraising events such as Angels Among Us Walk for Brain Tumor Research as well as dancing competitively.
Under the direction of Gail Lyle, this past year, the team was awarded the Ruth Jewell Trophy at the North Carolina State Fair Folk Festival for the team that best exemplified the historical and entertainment purposes of the Festival. In addition, the group has qualified to compete in the American Clogging Hall of Fame World Championships in the fall.
